Pilgrims of hope: UCAM enjoys its second jubilee march
Students and university staff from Nursing, Medicine, Dentistry, Psychology and Veterinary Medicine walk together along the path of faith between Los Jerónimos and the Cathedral.
The UCAM academic community has experienced an unforgettable journey of faith and fraternity on the occasion of Jubilee of Hope. Over 800 pilgrims, among students and staff from Nursing, Medicine, Dentistry, Psychology and Veterinary Medicine, undertook the journey that links the Monastery of Los Jerónimos, UCAM headquarters, with the Cathedral of Murcia, on foot. The atmosphere, filled with enthusiasm, could be felt from early in the morning. The campus was filled with backpacks, smiles and determined steps towards a common goal: to reach the Murcian temple and gain the Jubilee, in a sincere expression of faith and hope.
The journey, which was accompanied by pleasant weather and warm spring light, allowed the walkers to enjoy the scenery and the company. On arrival to the Jardín del Malecón (Malecón Garden), the participants regrouped, and advanced together towards the Cathedral, led by the Cross. The day culminated in the Cathedral, where the Eucharist was presided over by Luis Emilio Pascual, UCAM senior chaplain, in an act that reflected the spiritual meaning of this pilgrimage.
