Next year, UCAM FP will offer a new diploma of Senior Technician in Civil Works Projects
The students will learn to work in 3D with the BIM system, with Revit
The San Antonio Higher Institute of Vocational Training has presented its new diploma of Senior Technician in Civil Works Projects that will be offered starting next academic year at the UCAM Campus of Murcia. It stands out for its curriculum that is adapted to the needs of the construction sector, which demands qualified professionals.
The event, held at Los Jerónimos Campus, was attended by José Alarcón, director of the Institute, and Luis Fernández, president of the Construction Labour Foundation in Murcia, who were accompanied by Pedro de Los Santos, vice-dean of the Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and director of the training module, and Jesús Alcañiz, coordinator of the Senior Technician diploma.
The higher vocational training module is based on an in-depth initial training on the fundamental theoretical aspects, to which is added extensive internal and external practical teaching, so that the students experience the professional activity from the very beginning. To this, we must add a third and new line, consisting in the fact that the students will learn to work with the BIM system, with Revit, a specific programme for the development of 3D projects.
The president of the Construction Labour Foundation in Murcia highlighted the importance of this new diploma not only for UCAM, but also for the field of construction “given the significant demand for skilled workforce that exists nowadays”, specifying that “the field has great expectations for the future”.
