UCAM, through its Sports Service, is organizing the 4th UCAM 5K & Solidarity March for Multiple Sclerosis on Sunday, May 24, starting at 09:30 AM. The start and finish lines will be located at Paseo de Teniente Flomesta, directly in front of Murcia City Hall.

The event features a certified 5,000-meter circuit and will keep registration open until Thursday, May 21, at 4:00 PM. The initiative is open to both competitive runners and participants of the solidarity march, aiming to promote physical activity while supporting the work of the Multiple Sclerosis Association of Murcia (AMDEM).

Paqui Meroño, president of AMDEM, explained that the funds raised will be used to acquire an exoskeleton, "a very important project for our organization." She encouraged public participation in a day that combines sports, community, and solidarity. This sentiment was echoed by Miguel Ángel Noguera, Murcia’s City Councilor for Sports, who highlighted the City Council's support for the race and invited local residents to collaborate with the cause.

Pablo Rosique, UCAM’s Director of Sports, noted that while the race is a popular event, it is also open to federated athletes, whereas the solidarity march is open to participants of all ages and fitness levels.

New features for this edition include the "Decathlon stretch," an intermediate section that will function as an independent competition within the race. Additionally, the solidarity march will feature a "surprise time" challenge; the participant whose time most closely matches it will receive a ham, donated by the company Aromais.
