The Spanish Society of Academic Excellence put Laura Balanza Cañete, who obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the Cartagena Campus of UCAM Universidad Católica de Murcia, in the leading position of its ranking of best academic records of the country concerning graduates of this degree. This ranking takes into account the final mark, research prizes, publications and entrepreneurship in field of work among other things.

Balanza balanced her studies in Nursing with the creation of training companies in the field of first aid and with research, by publishing various articles with Fundación INDEX  and by participating in various conferences. It must be noted that she won the award for best communication in poster format in the Spanish National Conference of Dermatology Nursing that the Faculty of Nursing of UCAM promoted with the Spanish National Association of Dermatology Nursing and Research on Deterioration of Skin Integrity. Only a few days after completing her Bachelor’s Degree studies in the Los Dolores Campus, Laura Balanza started working as a nurse and now she balances her work activity with her studies for to obtain the Master’s Degree in Research in Social and Health Sciences of UCAM. The student states that she was “thrilled” to receive this award and she is very happy with the training received at UCAM.
