Izan Almansa awarded the Princesa Leonor Prize by the King of Spain

He is a student of the Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration at the Universidad Católica de Murcia and was a former player of the UCAM Murcia CB.

The Palacio de El Pardo in Madrid has hosted the award ceremony of the Spanish National Sports Awards 2022. The event was presided over by Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain. The basketball player Izan Almansa, a student of the UCAM Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, was awarded the Princesa Leonor Award by His Majesty King Felipe VI, recognising him as the best athlete under 18 years of age in 2022. 

In 2022, Almansa was European U18 champion and runner-up in the U17 World Championship, being named Most Valuable Player (MVP) in both tournaments. Almansa is currently continuing his sporting career in the United States in the G League Ignite as a preliminary step to his long-awaited jump to the NBA. At the same event, Murcian tennis player Carlos Alcaraz collected his award for the Best Spanish Athlete of 2022, the year in which he won his first Grand Slam, the US Open
