The international UCAM Murcia CF is launched
As part of the university structure, which is constantly growing, UCAM Murcia CF ‘C’ will compete in the Second Regional Division in the 2025/26 season.
This new project is made up of international footballers, born between 2001 and 2007, from ten countries (United States, Jordan, Bulgaria, Italy, Colombia, Brazil, Chile, France, Egypt and Sri Lanka) who join the university to continue developing their sporting and academic training. The team will have a professional coaching staff, made up of coaches trained in the UCAM Murcia CF youth academy, who will ensure the growth and progression of these young talents.
The international players will be housed in the Club's new residence, currently under construction, and will be accompanied by academic tutors to help them adapt. They will also continue their education at the Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM), where they will have access to services such as a dining hall, library, and gym, combining studies and sports in a unique environment.
With the creation of UCAM Murcia CF ‘C’, the university reinforces its commitment to comprehensive training and international projection, consolidating its position as a benchmark in the union between football and education.
A rapidly growing field
The creation of UCAM Murcia CF ‘C’ is another step forward in the excellent work being done by the Club in the international sphere, under the leadership of Carlos Moreno and Alfredo Borrás. In the last few months, the entity has been present at top-level events such as Soccerex Europe and the United Soccer Coaches Convention Chicago 2025 where innovative projects were shared and synergies were established with clubs, institutions and brands from all over the world.
In addition, international agreements have been signed with prestigious universities, such as the Shandong Sports University in China with the aim of promoting sports training and projecting the institution's brand and values at a global level.
It should be noted that this initiative is the result of the strong international profile of the Universidad Católica de Murcia, the institution to which the Club belongs, which this academic year will greatly exceed last year's number of foreign students at its campuses in Murcia and Cartagena, when 3,365 students from 139 countries across five continents were enrolled. The countries with the largest representation are Italy, France, Mexico, Colombia and Ecuador. It is also worth noting that students come from countries as distant as Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sri Lanka, Haiti and Kyrgyzstan, among others.
