The aim of the virtual event was to raise awareness of early stimulation in psychomotor development and its strong influence on children's health. The event is a part of the Master's Degree in Psychomotor skills and School Health which, once verified by ANECA as an official degree, will be the first of its kind in Spain.

The event was attended by, among others, the doctor in neuroscience María Jesús López, a specialist in Child Development and director of the Centre for Neurological Organisation CON (Spanish acronym) Neocortex. She explained the brain plasticity that children develop throughout their childhood.

"We have to know that when we talk about motor development, we are talking about brain development", and she pointed out that "we are unaware of the fact that, at least in the first six years of life, children should spend as little time as possible sitting down".

Internationally, Brigida Walker, an expert in Neurodevelopment, Early Stimulation, Paediatric Neurorehabilitation and Child Neuropsychology, spoke about the important role of early neurostimulation in the development of psychomotor skills.

Areas such as yoga as an active methodology in Physical Education, child psychomotor skills in the aquatic environment, early stimulation, the importance of the characteristics of a psychomotor skills room for learning derived from it, and the transfer of learned motor skills were also analysed.
