eSports phenomenon is growing in gigantic steps and FFRM (Football Federation of Region of Murcia) wanted to amount to this tendency through the Catholic University of San Antonio because of their experience in the sector. The world of electronic sports is growing, and therefore, there are everytime more institutions interested in this industry that attracts millions of young people all over the world.


José Luis Mendoza, president of UCAM, and José Miguel Monje, president of FFRM, signed an agreement of collaboration to start activities in relation to electronic sports. For Monje Carrillo it’s a historical act: “It’s the first agreement that’s been signed between a university and a sports federation to develop an eSports activity, thinking on those that want to participate”.


Tao Martínez, strategic director of UCAM eSports, highlighted the importance of this agreement because of the dimensions of the two signing entities: “FFRM is a very important alliance for all of us when initiating projects. The first will be on 14th of june, where we will be organising a presencial FIFA event where the federation will try eSports for the first time. Starting from September we will carry out different championships and leagues, where UCAM eSports will contribute all its knowledge in this area to the federation, while they will put all the structure towards organizing the competitions”.
