The Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM) has welcomed the players of the UCAM Murcia CB who, together with the president, María Dolores García, took the traditional family photo to mark the start of the 2024/2025 season. In an emotional ceremony, the team captains and their coach, Sito Alonso, presented the Endesa League runners-up trophy to the university. The trophy will be on display in the campus showcases, together with the institution's most outstanding sporting achievements.

The ceremony took place in the Temple of the Monastery of Los Jerónimos, where the memory of the president and founder of the UCAM, José Luis Mendoza Pérez, was present at all times. In his honour, the team presented the trophy in the chapel of the temple, a symbolic gesture that further links the club with the university that gives it its name.

The runner-up title, achieved last season, is an achievement that is the result of the team's effort and dedication, which faces new challenges in the Super Cup on 21 September against Unicaja at the Palacio de los Deportes. With this event, UCAM Murcia CB reaffirms its commitment to the values of sport and to the memory of its founder, who always defended sports as a fundamental part of the integral education of students.

President María Dolores García thanked the team for this tribute and highlighted the importance of the sporting legacy left by José Luis Mendoza, whose spirit continues to live on in the university and its teams.
