Drone pilot course organised by UCAM and Fundación Telefónica is a huge success
UCAM has a Drone Hub on its Murcia Campus.
Almost twenty people participated in a two-day drone pilot course, which was made possible through a joint initiative of UCAM and Fundación Telefónica called the Cátedra UCAM-Telefónica de Innovación y Emprendimiento en la Era Digital (the UCAM-Telefónica Chair in Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Digital Era).
The intensive course took place on the Murcia Campus, where the Drone Hub of the university is located. It provided a comprehensive training programme, combining advanced theory with real flying practice in UCAM's private airspace.
The participants obtained official A1-A3 category remote pilot certificates, recognised by the State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA).
The participants were chosen from over 70 candidates. Given the high interest, broad participation and warm reception, the organisation is already working on the launch of a new course.
The training was conducted by a team led by Pau Guardiola, Director of Emerging Technologies at UCAM; Rafael Melendreras, Vice-Dean of Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunication Systems Engineering; Javier Alonso Fernández, Expert Pilot of the UCAM Drone Hub and Alberto Lanchares, Architect of the UCAM Metaverse and Member of the UCAM Drone Hub.
This initiative is part of the integral strategy of UCAM's digital transformation that aims to promote technological innovations and foster advanced digital skills, which are necessary for professional development in diverse economic sectors
