CYD praises UCAM’s growth in health sciences and internationalisation
A report made by the main university ranking in Spain in 2025 shows an unprecedented regional increase in the number of UCAM students —with foreigners doubling the national average— in specialisation in health-related studies on a national scale and the stability of its workforce, as 99.5% of the professors holding permanent positions.
The outstanding quality of UCAM’s educational model spurred the increase in the number of students who have decided to further their education at UCAM over the years. These results have been noticed by Fundación Conocimiento y Desarrollo (CYD), the main Spanish university ranking. In their Autonomous Report of 2025, they pinpoint UCAM's record growth: almost 20% between 2018 and 2023.
CYD also highlights UCAM's leadership in health sciences, as 37.7% of the university’s programmes belong to this field. This percentage is the highest among all Spanish universities, with student enrolment exceeding 40%, compared to the national 16%. The health-related studies have been one of UCAM’s priorities since its foundation, both in teaching and in research, as shown, for instance, though the creation of UCAM HiTech—the university’s high technology hub specialised in health, sports and food. In addition, UCAM is also a pioneer in Spain in implementing the most advanced clinical simulation as an essential part of the training of its health science students.
Furthermore, the last CYD report shows the stability of UCAM’s teaching staff, as 99.5% is employed have permanent contracts, which shows the university’s commitment to its staff and the educational quality.
Internationalisation
As previously highlighted by other national and international rankings, as well as by CYD, the university prides itself in having the highest internationalisation level in the region (almost twice the average), and one of the highest in Spain, which highlights its global diversity though the presence of students from five different continents and the percentage of UE students above the national average.
In addition, UCAM is the university in the Region—and one of the first in Spain—that offers most degrees in English (both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees), which is an essential aspect in today’s globalised world. Degrees such as the Bachelor´s Degree in Business Administration, Dentistry, International Relations, Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, Psychology and Veterinary Medicine constitute a wide catalogue of undergraduate and postgraduate options for students.
