Students from countries including the Philippines, the United States and Italy gathered in the Assembly Hall at UCAM’s Murcia Campus this morning. They will be studying one of the university’s English-taught postgraduate programmes in tourism during the 2026/27 academic year. Two of these, the Master’s Degree in Innovation and Tourism Marketing and the Master’s Degree in Hospitality Management, have been offered at UCAM for over a decade. Both are taught on campus in English and are also available online in Spanish. This year, they are joined by the new Master’s Degree in Development, Management and Sustainable Tourism Policy, which is taught on campus in English.

‘International students make up 90% of those enrolled on these master’s programmes’, said Ginesa Martínez del Vas, vice-dean of UCAM’s Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism Management and director of the programmes.

This reflects UCAM’s international outlook. International enrolments have risen again in the 2026/27 academic year, with students from 135 countries now accounting for 21% of the university’s student body.

UCAM delivers these programmes through a dedicated teaching team that brings together industry professionals and academics. Students gain a strong theoretical foundation alongside practical training, including field visits that give them first-hand insight into the tourism industry.

As tourism is a constantly evolving sector, the programmes’ curricula are regularly updated to meet the industry’s changing needs. ‘The tourism industry needs qualified professionals. It needs the talented young people who are choosing to pursue careers in a sector of such global importance,’ added Martínez del Vas.
