One of the hallmarks of UCAM is its internationalisation, with thousands of students from more than 100 countries on its campuses. This commitment has been recognised by the Carlos III Foundation of Madrid, which has granted the Ibero-American Rectora Magnífica Award to Josefina García, UCAM Rector, for her brilliant career at the head of the institution and for her commitment to strengthening academic and cultural links between Spain and the countries of Latin America.

The award, which honours personalities who have made an outstanding contribution to the progress of education and international cooperation, was presented at a ceremony held at the El Alcázar Military Residence in Madrid, at which distinguished figures from the diplomatic, military, legal and literary fields were also honoured.

During the ceremony, the UCAM international projection was highlighted, especially in the field of higher education, applied research and social action. The distinction also underlines the role of its rector as a reference in the promotion of the Catholic educational model and in the consolidation of UCAM’s presence in different countries of Latin America.
