BOOST OF THE EUROPEAN INVESTMENT BANK TO THE EXPANSION PROJECTS OF UCAM

BOOST OF THE EUROPEAN INVESTMENT BANK TO THE EXPANSION PROJECTS OF UCAM
The European Investment Bank is the community financial body of the European Union.

The Board of Directors of the European Investment Bank approved the financing of the expansion projects of UCAM in Murcia and for its implementation in Madrid and Málaga. The overall project reaches an amount of 67 million of Euro and it consists of two phases, the first of which will be carried out in Murcia. The signing of the agreement will be formalised soon.

The expansion project in Murcia is essential, given the constant increase in the number of students (in this academic year, once again, both in Bachelor’s and in Postgraduate Degrees, and a great part of them comes from other countries, so they need accommodation and services), and it is necessary to include new facilities for teaching, research projects and transfer of knowledge.

The investment includes the construction and reconstruction of various buildings in Murcia (by integrating the latest energy-efficient technologies) for the gym, the start-up incubator, the classrooms, the student hall and the library, as well as a new phase of reconstruction of the Los Jerónimos Monastery, on which UCAM has invested 7 million of Euro of its own resources so far.
