Agreement between UCAM and the Sustainable Humanitarian Foundation DIHAD of Dubai

The Universidad Católica de Murcia will strengthen its position in the United Arab Emirates thanks to its alliance with the Sustainable Humanitarian Foundation DIHAD, chaired by Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani. Postgraduate training in the field of humanitarian projects, both in Murcia and Dubai, will be the first outcome of the relationship between the two entities. 

 

Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani is the Ambassador of The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean – PAM, for his role in developing and reinforcing the humanitarian and development sectors and for his outstanding contribution to the humanitarian field through INDEX Conferences & Exhibitions Organization Est. yearly event – “DIHAD” and Chairman of INDEX Holding (an important conglomerate of companies in various industries) together with José Luis Mendoza, President of the Universidad Católica de Murcia, signed the collaboration agreement at the Los Jerónimos Campus. The Emirati businessman expressed his satisfaction with the start of this relationship: "UCAM is one of the most prominent universities in Spain and it is a pleasure to sign this agreement. Its first initiative will be a master's degree in humanitarian crisis management that will be based in Murcia and which we will later on implement in Dubai and other parts of the world".  

 

Gonzalo Wandosell, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Business Sciences at UCAM, remarked that this step "means strengthening our position in the United Arab Emirates. Al Madani is a very well-known person in his country and will provide us with significant strength and positioning to further consolidate our position in this part of the world".  

 

During his stay at UCAM, Al Madani visited the Monastery of Los Jerónimos and visited the UCAM HiTech facilities, the high-tech incubator for entrepreneurship and research projects in health, sports and nutrition of the Universidad Católica de Murcia.
