The students of the fourth graduating class of the Degree in Medicine at the Universidad Católica de Murcia have obtained excellent results in the MIR, the Examination for Internal Medical Residents, with a 97% pass rate, a figure similar to that of previous years. In addition to this outstanding overall success, there are also excellent personal results, such as the student Sergio López, who ranked 45th in the top 50 in Spain. This great achievement in the MIR makes it possible for most graduates to choose a medical speciality.

"I knew I had done well, but not how well", says Sergio López, who is very happy and proud of the result; and about his future, he is doubting between Dermatology and Internal Medicine, in Madrid. Of his time at UCAM, he highlights the quality of the teaching staff and the facilities: "The hours were long, but the simulation has helped us a lot in terms of clinical reasoning and knowing how to act better on a day-to-day basis as a doctor".

The graduates of the first three classes of the Universidad Católica, who passed the MIR in previous editions, have done their specialisation, or are doing so, in reference hospitals such as Gregorio Marañón, Hospital Clínico, La Paz, and Ramón y Cajal, in the city of Madrid; and Santa Lucía, Virgen de la Arrixaca, Morales Meseguer and Reina Sofía, in the Region of Murcia; as well as in different parts of Spain. The graduates chose the specialities of Anaesthesia, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Dermatology, Internal Medicine and Traumatology, among others.

Jerónimo Lajara, dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at UCAM, expressed his satisfaction. "The MIR is the culmination of a long period of effort and sacrifice, and the fact that they obtain these results makes us think that we are on the right track, and not accidentally, as we have had similar results since the very beginning of the Degree in Medicine at UCAM," said Lajara.
