UCAM takes part in a European debate for young leaders

The “Economic Forum of Young Leaders” took place in Poland at the beginning of September and is the most important debate for the involvement of European youth in the future of the Union and of the old continent.

The OPRI (International Projects Office) of UCAM coordinated the project, co-financed by the European Union, in order to take part in the debates and to develop the contacts of the institution at a European level. Ana Maria Dragomir, OPRI’s representative in Poland, discussed themes such as youth employment, energy dependence, and entrepreneurship as well as political and social issues such as refugees and ISIS, together with more than 350 youths leaders of the world.

The forum also hosted renowned personalities and experts, such as the President of Macedonia, Gjorge Ivanov; Poland’s Prime Minister, Ewa Kopacz; or Slovenia’s former president, Danilo Turk, among others, to discuss the state of the question with young people. This event encourages the freedom of speech of youths, who can exchange opinions and experiences about the most important issues of the moment. The experts’ analyses also foster the debate. During the week in Poland, the participants could enjoy the opportunity to create new international contacts and broaden their vision on social and economic affairs of the world. At the end of the forum, a report will compile the main conclusions of the young leaders’ discussions.
