UCAM receives a laurel from the Official Association of Journalists in recognition of its commitment to sport
José Luis Mendoza García, Director of Institutional Relations, received the award, which recognises the Universidad Católica on its 25th Anniversary.
The Teatro Romea was the setting for the award ceremony of the “Laurels of Murcia”, a recognition that has been granted by the Official Association of Journalists of the Region of Murcia for the last 59 years. The Universidad Católica San Antonio received the award in the Sports category, in recognition of its work in this field at all levels: quality teaching and research of excellence through its Faculty of Sports, the results obtained in national and international competitions, and its unwavering support of elite athletes. Said athletes can combine studies and sports thanks to the alliance UCAM has with the Spanish Olympic Committee.
José Luis Mendoza García, Director of Institutional Relations at UCAM, received the award from Juan Antonio de Heras, President of the Fundación Asociación de la Prensa de la Región de Murcia. The “Extraordinary Laurel” was awarded to the healthcare professionals who have worked and continue to work on the front line in the fight against COVID-19. It was also awarded to all the workers in the sectors who, in the most difficult times of the pandemic, have contributed with their efforts and sacrifices to ensure that society felt safe, supplied, cared for, and informed.
