UCAM President holds an endearing meeting with Pope Francis
Last week, His Holiness Pope Francis received the UCAM President, María Dolores García, in audience at the Vatican on the occasion of the inaugural ceremony of the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family, whose headquarters in Madrid is administered and managed by the Universidad Católica de Murcia.
During the meeting, the UCAM President informed the Holy Father of the opening of the new campus in Madrid next academic year, news which delighted the Pope. Likewise, the President of the Universidad Católica shared with Francis the evangelising work that the University continues to do with young people. She also gave him an image of the Virgen de la Piedad on the occasion of the centenary of this brotherhood from Cartagena, to which the founder of the UCAM, José Luis Mendoza, belonged.
