José Luis Mendoza García, Director of Institutional Relations, and Marco
Bruno, Director of International Development, are representing UCAM at
the World Congress of the International Christian Union of Business
Executives (UNIAPAC in Spanish), which is being held in Rome. José Luis
Mendoza also attends as a member of the board of directors of Acción Social
Empresarial (ASE) - Spanish Association of Christian Entrepreneurs and
Executives. This year, the meeting is organised the theme "Courage to
change". Many of the conferences and workshops are focused on sustainable
growth, the opportunities offered by new technologies and the challenges the
economy will be facing in the near future.
Today, Friday, the congress participants had a private audience with Pope
Francis, in which the Holy Father encouraged them to ‘create a new economy
for the common good that includes everyone and humanises.’ In this regard,
he stressed the importance of committing to a ‘new agreement to reform the
world economic system, with the aim of improving people's lives by seeking an
economy of the Gospel, at the service of the people, of life and of the family’.
