UCAM graduates 400 gastronomy professionals in Havana

This initiative has been developed within the framework of the project ‘The Cuban Currency: Youth Training Program’ [La Moneda Cubana: Programa de Entrenamiento para Jóvenes], and there are already 1600 students registered for the next academic year.

UCAM Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia has conferred degrees to 400 students in Havana (Cuba), within the framework of the project of local community development ‘The Cuban Currency: Youth Training Program’, in which UCAM participates through the training that it offers to these students. The students, who are registered to UCAM Universidad Católica de Murcia, received a training course to become University Technicians in Cooking and Gastronomy, which corresponds to a Professional Training qualification in Cuba.


Antonio Alcaraz López, vice-chancellor for University Extension, states that for two years the students receive a basic preparation to enter into the labour market in the field of tourism, gastronomy, hotel industry, travels, in order to find a job. “For the next academic year there are already about 1600 students registered”, states Antonio Alcaraz.
