UCAM delivers 1,500 kg of food to be distributed by the soldiers between Cartagena and Caravaca
The Special Naval Warfare Force has received this contribution from the Catholic University so that its members can distribute it among the municipalities of Mula, Bullas, Cehegín and Caravaca during a march they will carry out starting from Cartagena
The members of the Special Naval Warfare Force Unit, located in the Algameca Naval Station in Cartagena, will carry out for the third consecutive year a night march on foot from Cartagena to Caravaca, carrying each of them in their backpacks non-perishable foodstuffs to be distributed to the Diocesan Caritas of the municipalities of Mula, Bullas and Cehegín.
To enable this social work to be carried out, UCAM Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia has donated 1,500 kilos of food to this military unit, with the aim of helping those most in need during Christmas. Antonio Alcaraz, vice-chancellor for University Extension at UCAM, handed over these products to Antonio Martínez, commander of the Special Naval Warfare Force, who thanked the Catholic University for its collaboration with the Army and those who need it most, to whom they will distribute the food on 17 and 18 December.
This donation is in addition to the 1,000 kilos of food that UCAM will donate to the neediest families in the Los Dolores neighbourhood through the parish Caritas of the churches of María Auxiliadora, Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores and Cristo de la Salud.
