UCAM creates a cluster with other scientific institutions to empower research in health

It will bring science closer to society and it will strengthen the culture of research.

UCAM Universidad Católica de Murcia, together with Cognitive ExpertsGenetracer BiotechPeRTICA, Biosmo and the Madrid Network Association, founded the group called ‘Ciencias de la Vida’ [Sciences of Life], to improve the public-private alliance in the field of biomedical and clinical innovation.

It aims at increasing its members and strengthening international alliances

This research group was born with the aim of sharing technology and knowledge, “thus achieving that the advances in this field can be a lot faster”, says Estrella Núñez, vice-chancellor for Research of UCAM Universidad Católica de Murcia and secretary of the cluster. It has been created with a national vocation, but it will collaborate with other international groups.

Public-private collaboration

The aim of its creation is to help improve the quality of life of people, the sustainability of the environment, the economic development and the creation of high-value employment linked to the field of health, “putting the knowledge at the service of society”, points out Estrella Núñez.

For this purpose, it will promote an effective public-private collaboration and it will bring science closer to society, especially starting from education and business collaboration through initiatives oriented towards the strengthening of research culture at all levels.
