The Catholic University of Murcia, through its International Chair in Social Responsibility, has renewed the collaboration agreement with Aguas de Murcia for the development of training, research and scientific dissemination in the field of water resource management.

The agreement was signed by María Dolores García, UCAM President, and Inmaculada Serrano, Director General of Aguas de Murcia. Present at the signing ceremony were Estrella Núñez, UCAM Vice-Rector of Research; Víctor Meseguer, Director of the International Chair in Social Responsibility and PI of the Social Responsibility, Sustainability and Innovation Research Group (GAIA), and Isabel Mª Martínez, Co-PI of the Group; and on behalf of Aguas de Murcia, Pilar Megía, Head of Sustainable Development and CSR; Juan Cabezas, Director of Clients; and Rafael Gómez, Director of General Services and Human Resources.

Aguas de Murcia was one of the first organisations to sign a collaboration agreement with the UCAM International Chair in Social Responsibility and its Research Group.

‘We plan to work on actions within the framework of the Water Social Alliance, such as research on how to optimise such an important resource for us citizens, drinking water, the water that we consume at home every day,’ said Víctor Meseguer.

Meanwhile, Inmaculada Serrano, who places this agreement within the framework of her social water alliance strategy, stated that with this agreement they will continue to work on ‘specific actions aimed at pursuing the city's circular economy strategy, and its social and technological innovation’, hoping that it will be as fruitful as previous agreements.
