UCAM celebrates the graduation of its new graduates
José Luis Mendoza, president of the University, highlights the comprehensive training that students receive at the institution.
Joy and satisfaction are emotions that are being experienced during the acts for the awarding of sashes and diplomas to students of all degrees, both undergraduate and postgraduate, of the 2021 class of UCAM Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia. The institution, which usually celebrates its graduation ceremonies in the Temple of Los Jerónimos Monastery (main Campus), given the current circumstances and making an important effort, has moved the act to the Palacio de los Deportes in Murcia, to continue making it possible for the students to be accompanied by family members, in a safe manner and complying at all times with the COVID regulations in force.
The UCAM university community has been able to successfully overcome the circumstances that have made these last few academic years particularly complex, and its students have the added value of having achieved, within this framework, all their academic objectives. This was emphasised by José Luis Mendoza, president of UCAM, during the first graduation ceremony, in the presence of the students, their families and academic representatives. He also highlighted the excellent academic training achieved by the students, and encouraged them to transmit the values of Christian humanism, also stressing the great importance of the family.
The UCAM president was accompanied at this first event by the dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication, Pablo Blesa, and the vice-deans of the degrees (Journalism, Audiovisual Communication, Advertising and Public Relations, Modern Languages, and the Master’s Degree in Bilingual Teaching), with Julián Redondo, president of the Spanish Sports Press Association, as sponsor.
In the following ceremony, the students of the Bachelor’s Degrees in Pre-Primary and Primary Education and of the Master’s Degree in Teacher Training received their diplomas and sashes, with the participation of the vice-dean Sonia Martínez, and the director of the postgraduate course, Juan José González.
Students from the Bachelor's Degrees in Podiatry, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Gastronomy, and Food Science and Technology, Psychology, Pharmacy, Medicine and from the Master’s Degrees in Nutrition and Food Security and in General Health Psychology, as well as from the Faculty of Nursing have also graduated. Isabel Fortea Gorbe, Director General of Scientific Research and Innovation of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia (CARM), acted as sponsor of the new graduates.
José Jesús Guillén, Director General of Public Health and Addictions of the CARM, acted as sponsor of the graduates in Medicine and Dentistry.
