The WIMU system is used by some of the First, Second Division and Spanish Soccer Team teams

UCAM Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia offers postgraduate training in the field of high performance sport. In order to expand at an international level, it has signed an agreement with WIMU, a system that allows an analysis of the tactical and physiological performance of athletes and is used by half of the First and Second Division teams and the Spanish football team, as well as the basketball and hockey teams among others.

As a result of this agreement, the university-specific degree in 'Use of EPTS technology in high performance sport - Level 1’ will be launched, and it will be taught online in both English and Spanish. In this regard, the director of the UCAM Spanish Sports University, Pedro Emilio Alcaraz, explains «the importance of the fact that the University can work with WIMU due to its international potential. In fact, we already collaborate on a project in Australia».

Monitoring of athletes

Isabel Pérez, founder of WIMU, points out that through this technology «the positioning of the athletes on the field is monitored through GPS and UWB, and a physiological, kinematic and tactical analysis of the player is made in order to know different variables such as workloads, speed, jumps and accelerations. About 20,000 pieces of information are analysed every second».
