UCAM and Universidad Hispanoamericana de Panama sign a collaboration agreement
The agreement will allow the development of training and applied research in the areas of podiatry, high performance sport and nursing
With the aim of strengthening academic and research cooperation, the UCAM president, María Dolores García, and the rector of the Universidad Hispanoamericana de Panamá, Wilfredo Molina, have signed a collaboration agreement at the Los Jerónimos Campus that will allow both institutions to work together in the areas of podiatry, research in high performance sports and nursing. The signing ceremony was also attended by María del Carmen Tarvientes de Benavides, executive secretary of the National Council for University Evaluation and Accreditation of Panama.
The agreement establishes the implementation of joint projects in teaching and research, as well as the exchange of students and teachers between the two institutions. It also envisages the organisation of seminars, conferences and specialised training programmes to enable the knowledge transfer and the development of innovative initiatives in these fields.
According to Wilfredo Molina, ‘the quality of UCAM's teaching staff, as well as their level of scientific production in high-impact research, has attracted our attention, which further reinforces the incentive we have to continue establishing ties between both universities’.
Similarly, Manuel Pardo, vice-dean of the UCAM Degree in Podiatry, stressed that ‘we are going to start teaching specialisation degrees, especially in health sciences, where we have a large number of professors and scientists who can help boost their training there’.
With this alliance, UCAM and Universidad Hispanoamericana de Panama promote applied research in the field of high-performance sport, strengthen training in podiatry with an advanced clinical and technological approach, and improve training in nursing through the use of innovative methodologies and practices in real environments.
