UCAM was at the centre stage at the Laureles de Murcia awards given every year since 1963 by the Professional Association of Journalists of the Region and the Foundation of the Regional Association of the Sports Press of Murcia. At the event, held at the Romea Theatre in Murcia, researcher María Cuartero, Co-Director of the UCAM-SENS Chemical Sensors Unit, and José Antonio Carrillo, President and Coach of the UCAM Athleo Cieza athletics club, received their awards for their social contribution and their professional careers in the fields of research and sport.

The awards ceremony was attended by the President of the Universidad Católica de Murcia, María Dolores García, who expressed her satisfaction with these awards, accompanied by a large representation of our institution.

The ceremony was chaired by the Regional President, Fernando López Miras, together with the dean of the Association of Journalists of the Region of Murcia, Miguel Masssotti, and the President of the Laurels Governing Council, Antonio Gómez Fayrén.
