Mediation training, key to resolving conflicts in the classroom
Experts in education also analysed the impact of artificial intelligence in the academic field and its ethical challenges at the 11th UCAM Conference on Educational Innovation
Professors, researchers and students of the UCAM Master's Degree in Teacher Training participated in the 11th Conference on Educational Innovation, organised by UCAM on its campuses in Murcia and Cartagena.
A forum in which the latest trends in pedagogical methodologies were discussed, highlighting mediation in the classroom as a tool for conflict resolution; a tool some schools in the Region of Murcia are already applying, training their teachers and students in this area.
Another of the issues discussed was the use of artificial intelligence in the classroom, where experts reminded that it is essential that AI is applied ethically and responsibly, with data protection always at the forefront; ‘it is a powerful tool, but it comes with challenges,’ they said.
Juana Mulero, UCAM Dean of the Faculty of Education, stressed that ‘every year new needs arise in the education system, the pace at which technology advances forces us to innovate in educational centres, and therefore to propose new ways of teaching. In these conferences we propose different topics that contribute to the training of teachers and that are useful for the development of their professional work’.
