The #LídeRES Management Development Programme is an initiative of the International Chair of Corporate Social Responsibility of the Catholic University of Murcia, which can count on the support of Hidrogea and the participation of the more than twenty companies that compose the Friends Club of the chair. On the first day of this programme, a presentation was made by PwC on the ‘Law on Non-Financial Information and Diversity’, which has resulted in a rule change since the companies, apart from their annual accounts, must offer non-financial information detailing their activities in matters related to environment, corruption, employment, etc.

Eduardo Chapa, partner in charge of the Audit office of PwC in Murcia, noted that “the companies with more than 500 employees have already fulfilled this obligation. Within two years, the companies with more than 250 employees will have to do the same. The rulers want it to be a very internalised activity in companies. All of this will reflect in society because the non-financial information will be increasingly relevant and the companies will take steps to improve in all those matters and they will say that they are doing so”.

This event is the first one of the academic year 2019/20, but more events of this kind will be held in the next months. José Luis Mendoza García, director of Institutional Relations of the UCAM emphasised “the importance of the contributions of the companies of the Region to events like this, since they are the ones who create employment and wealth”.  Víctor Meseguer, director of the Chair of RSC, pointed out that it has to do with “attracting the best managers of the transversal fields that affect the business so that they can seek solutions to the daily problems of our business fabric”. For her part, Eva Franco, Communication director of Hidrogea and director of the #LídeRES Management Development Programme, described these events as “a forum where the companies and professionals of the Region of Murcia will share their concerns and problems. We will also give value to the innovative experiences and successful cases of our entities”.
