The IUNE Observatory praises UCAM for its cooperation with the business world
In its 2022 report, it ranks the university as the second university in Spain in terms of R&D and consultancy contracts
UCAM continues to stand out and improve in the reports and rankings
published by different institutions. This time, the IUNE 2022 edition, prepared by
the '4U Alliance', formed by the universities Carlos III de Madrid, Autónoma de
Madrid, Autónoma de Barcelona and Pompeu Fabra, reflects the progress of
the Universidad Católica de Murcia in the scientific field and its positioning at
national level.
As a result of the work carried out by the institution chaired by José Luis
Mendoza, the IUNE report highlights that, in 2020, UCAM was the second
university in Spain in terms of R&D contracts and consultancies per 100
lecturers. Estrella Núñez, UCAM Vice-rector for Research, points out the
importance of this data: ‘These results are a product of our president’s firm commitment to
promote quality research which provides a service to society in general and to
the business world in particular.’
In the field of private universities, the Universidad Católica de Murcia is the
second most cited university in terms of scientific articles and theses defended
per lecturer. It’s also the third in terms of theses defended and number of
citations per lecturer. In Estrella Núñez's opinion, these figures, corresponding
to the year 2020, reflect ‘the great effort and quality work carried out by our
researchers, as well as the spirit of constant improvement present in all the
activities we conduct at UCAM.’
