“The fact that a product went through clinical trials is good for the industry”

UCAM Universidad Católica de Murcia, through the Research Result Transfer Office (OTRI) and in collaboration with Monteloeder S.L., carried out the webinar titled ‘Ensayos clínicos para demostrar la efectividad de compuestos bioactivos’ [Clinical trials to demonstrate the effectiveness of bioactive compounds]

Estrella Núñez, vice-chancellor for Research of UCAM, inaugurated the conference that was held online and thanked the speakers for their participation, adding that “science and innovation go hand-in-hand”. For his part, Luis Tejada Portero, director of Research and Technological Transfer of UCAM, made sure that the aim of the sectorial meeting was achieved: “To foster the transfer of technology and the relation between the research groups of UCAM and the companies, by providing them with all the knowledge that the University has, to help them with the development of new products and services, in order to be more competitive”.

Pedro Emilio Alcaraz, director of the Research Centre on High Performance Sport talked about polyphenol research. On the other hand, Pilar Zafrilla, vice-dean of the Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, informed on the beneficial effects of broccoli sprouts consumption. Silvia Montoro, PhD in Biology, provided information regarding clinical trials with mice to assess toxicity. Francisco Javier López, director of the Chair of Exercise Physiology highlighted the positive aspects of his experience with UCAM Universidad Católica de Murcia and with the research group.
