The Community approves the Dual Degree in Gastronomy at UCAM
It will be the first university degree in the Region of Murcia in this modality, allowing students to study various subjects in the Odiseo facilities of the Orenes Group
The students of the new Dual Degree in Gastronomy at UCAM, which is the first of its kind in the Region and one of the few in Spain, will be taught in the facilities of the Los Jerónimos Campus, which has a Gastrolab, food analysis laboratories, etc. However, the last two years students will have subjects in the facilities of the Odiseo, which belongs to the Orenes Group (Murcia), while at the same time carrying out a paid internship.
The Inter-University Council of the Region of Murcia, which met today in the Palacio Consistorial in Cartagena, has issued its favourable report prior to the conclusive verification by the Ministry of Universities. Thanks to this modality, the students will combine their training on the campus of the Universidad Católica de Murcia with the training they receive in the different sections of the Odiseo restaurant, which was awarded a Michelin star last year.
Josefina García, rector of UCAM, highlighted that "we have worked closely with the companies that are going to collaborate, so that the degree will have all the guarantees in terms of the acquisition of skills and the added value of being able to develop the learning process with qualified professionals".
New degrees
On the other hand, the Rector announced that the UCAM will implement a new Degree in Architecture, a Master's Degree in Architecture and a Master's Degree in Physical Exercise and Health Training next year.
