The Rafael del Pino, Banco Sabadell and Francisco Soria Melguizo foundations, and now also UCAM, are part of the Celera talent accelerator, an initiative that celebrated its tenth anniversary in the Rafael del Pino Auditorium (Madrid), with the attendance of academic institutions, entrepreneurs and representatives of the innovation ecosystem, with the objective of promoting technology transfer and the creation of science-based companies.

The Universidad Católica de Murcia was represented by Josefina García, UCAM Rector; Carlos Caballero, Director of UCAM HiTech, and Estrella Núñez, UCAM Vice-Rector of Research, showing their support for the work carried out by Celera in the retention of scientific talent, as well as its contribution to the creation of more than 15 technology companies in its first ten years of existence.

Josefina García stressed in her speech that ‘we are especially proud to be part of this great project together with other great institutions. Let us celebrate this milestone together and continue to build a path where talent, innovation and collaboration are the foundations for a better future’.

Meanwhile, Carlos Caballero explained how UCAM HiTech, the high technology incubator of UCAM, is working on the creation of a community and ecosystem that seeks to connect researchers, entrepreneurs and investors to promote technology transfer and the creation of scientific start-ups. The Coral, the online community of scientific entrepreneurship that seeks to generate impact in the world through business projects, was also presented.

The participation of UCAM in this initiative reinforces its position as a benchmark in the promotion of scientific entrepreneurship and innovation in Spain.
