The Bachelor’s Degree in Dance has a new room for practical lessons
The facilities of this degree, the only official one in Spain, are in the Faculty of Sport, in the La Noria area.
“We will be able to work in optimal conditions in the technical dance lessons, with an adequate floor, in a very open space and with a lot of light”. This is how Mariló Molina, vice-dean of the Bachelor’s Degree in Dance of UCAM Universidad Católica de Murcia, described the room that her degree has now available inside the facilities of the Faculty of Sport in the La Noria are. Molina highlighted the heterogeneous profile of the trainers of this degree, which is the only official and specific dance degree in Spain: “The teachers who teach practical subjects have been working, in the past, with professional dance companies, thus we try to combine in our faculty both teachers with more academic profiles and teachers who have a wider professional career”.
This degree, which begun at UCAM in 2017, faces its firth academic year and it already has a first promotion. The balance is extremely positive according to Antonio Sánchez Pato, dean of the Faculty of Sport: “I believe it is good for the students to perceive that the University is committed with the projects it launches and this entails the fact of ensuring the best conditions for their studies, as in the case of this Dance Room. The boys and girls who want to receive an academic training in this field can find here the facilities and the human resources for their Bachelor’s Degree training, which will be very important for their professional future”.
