The Catholic University of Murcia inaugurated the academic year 2019/2010 of the degrees in Architecture and Construction Engineering and the Master’s Degree in Pathology and Intervention in Building. The architect Carme Pinós, awarded with the National Award of Architecture and Public Space of the Government of Catalonia for her career path and who currently works in various urban planning projects of the historical centre of Barcelona, has been the person selected to welcome the new students.

“I want to transmit to the students my passion for architecture; since it is a quite difficult subject, we have a big responsibility and if you do not approach it with passion, you might end up selling yourself to the market”, declares Carme Pinós, who furthermore advises the students to be observers, since “architecture is a service to society and we must understand society by observing it and listening to it, in order to be more aware of the responsibility that being an architect entails”.

Juan Roldán Ruiz, director of the Degree in Architecture at the UCAM, remembers that the Polytechnic School of the Catholic University begun 22 years ago. “Students notice in our courses the commitment of the professors who come from the professional field. This year, we want to increase the participation of external associated professionals so that the training of the students can be better”, says Juan Roldán Ruiz.
