Dear Student,

Welcome to the “Master in Tolerance Studies and Global Peace" organized by the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace and Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM) at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication. The Faculty is set at Los Jerónimos Campus of UCAM, strategically located as a cross-road between Europe and Africa, by the Mediterranean sea in Murcia, South-East Spain. The campus hosts more than 20.000 students, including a large community of over 2.000 international students coming from over 100 countries and speaking 70 languages. UCAM also offers an all-encompassing staff with more than 1.000 professors teaching in our facilities.

UCAM and the Global Council share common values and a vision of a better world founded on mutual understanding,respect, tolerance, integration and peace between peoples and states. In light of these ideals, this program has been designed with great care and enthusiasm, offering you value and excellence in education in order to equip the students with the knowledge and training to contribute actively in the task of building a better world for today and tomorrow.

Why this Master

The program hereby introduced qualifies you to obtain a Master Degree in Tolerance Studies and Global Peace (MATP). It enables you to develop knowledge and understanding for those students who wish to develop specific competencies related to international peacekeeping efforts.

Higher education, one of the main pillars of Tolerance and Peace, should continuously be transformed through the development of quality programs, especially at the postgraduate levels. These programs can meet society’s needs from economic, cultural, and community engagement perspectives.

Learning and research about Tolerance, as a new discipline in higher education, has become vital to nurturing and equipping graduates with innovative knowledge and skills, and to meet the community’s needs for living together in harmony and stability. Without tolerance, peace of societies cannot be maintained, acceptance of and solidarity with each others cannot be cultivated.

The aim of this program is to provide students with a strong theoretical foundation, blended with practical application to enhance students’ effectiveness in the areas of tolerance and peacekeeping efforts.
