The Archbishop of Madrid, Carlos Osoro, attended yesterday the headquarters of the Pontifical John Paul II Theological Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family in Madrid to present to the new students the work that will be carried out in the renovated institution.

Cardenal Osoro mentioned in his speech José Luis Mendoza, general administrator and vice-president of this centre “who, as always, lends what he has, and who has provided us with all the means so that the Institute can be the one we all want”.

The cardinal also stressed that “this is a great service to the Church in Spain; that is the idea that the Holy Father transmitted to me, but also to Latin America”.

Then the first teaching sessions were taught by father Manuel Jesús Arroba, dean of this centre, located in the capital of Spain and supported and managed by UCAM Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia.

The main objective of this Institute is to spread the marriage and family sciences throughout the world, in a project that was born with the blessing of Pope Francis.

An official inauguration event of the centre is foreseen in the coming weeks.
