The International Festival of Cante de las Minas posthumously awards the Castillete de Oro to José Luis Mendoza

The connection of José Luis Mendoza, founder of the UCAM, to the International Festival of Cante de las Minas, has led him to be awarded the ‘Castillete de Oro’ posthumously, during the 62nd edition of the festival. According to the president of the Fundación Cante de las Minas, Joaquín Zapata, this distinction, the most important of the Festival, is ‘an act of justice’ for ‘a good person who did so much for flamenco and for La Unión.’
