The University Welcome 2021 has started with a bang at the Los Jerónimos Campus. With the return to in-person attendance of this event, the University has once again been buzzing with life and activities. At the Welcome UCAM students could get to know the services available to them first-hand and they could enjoy the programmed activities. Mireia Belmonte, quadruple Olympic medallist and student of the Degree in Advertising and Public Relations, was at the event and took part in some of the activities with her classmates.

Food tastings, thanks to Cafés Salzillo and Sushi Up; e-sports competitions, by UCAM Esports; Cross HIT sports exhibitions, led by UCAM Sports Center instructors; a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation workshop, aided by virtual reality; and a visit by UCAM Murcia CF players were some of the most important events on the first day of the welcome event in which hundreds of students participated.

One of the highlights of the Welcome Days is that students have the opportunity to get to know the services offered by the university, such as the SOIL (Career Guidance and Information Service), Volunteering, the university radio station iRadio, the School of Languages and the Sports Service, among others. A good opportunity, especially for first-year students, to make the most of their time at university.

On the second day of the Welcome, the UCAM Murcia BSR exhibition was a big hit, allowing students to sit in a wheelchair and experience the sport first-hand. Some of the professional League of Legends players of UCAM Esports also took part in the Welcome. To conclude the event at Los Jerónimos, one of the UCAM Murcia CB players, James Webb III, challenged the students to a free-throw shooting contest.

The Welcome at the Cartagena Campus

Gisela Pulido, ten times world champion kitesurfing, attended the event and took the opportunity to learn more about some of the activities of the university where she is going to study the Degree in Advertising and Public Relations. Besides, she was presented as an UCAM athlete at the University Welcome, which moved to the Cartagena Campus. A great opportunity for students to get to know some of the services offered by the university such as the SOIL (Career Guidance and Information Service), Volunteering, the university radio iRadio, the Language School and the Sports Service, among others.
