Finland, Norway, Germany, Holland, Greece, Macedonia, Italy and Turkey are some of the countries from which universities and institutions work together with the UCAM in European projects. The Faculty of Sports of the Catholic University of Murcia has become the protagonist of Erasmus + Sport participating in eleven of the thirteen projects approved in 2018.

Antonio Sánchez Pato, dean of the Faculty of Sports, recalls how UCAM became a European role model: "In January 2015 we started the first project funded by the European Union that was about Dual Career, where UCAM presented its model of sports tutoring that was already successful at that time, allowing high level athletes to combine their sports career and their academic career. The support of the Spanish Olympic Committee has always been key. The alliance formed by our president, José Luis Mendoza, and the president of the COE, Alejandro Blanco, has favored the athletes in a real way. We took this model to four other European universities in the United Kingdom, Greece, Malta and Italy. One of the publications of this project was presented to 'European Athletics', winning the first prize in the Innovation category".

"In Europe they understand that UCAM is a very active institution and that it's a reliable partner, with good resources of researchers, teachers and managers and therefore it’s a role model. There is no university that has so many projects awarded in this area".

Under the name of Erasmus + Sport, there is a series of projects that have their focus in sports, but divide into many areas of interest: "The dual career is a very important issue on which we have focused our efforts but we have been working in other areas such as social inclusion and volunteering".
