José Luis Mendoza, Spanish Olympic Committee award for 'Olympic Values'

UCAM Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia has been very present at the Gala of the Spanish Olympic Committee held in Madrid. José Luis Mendoza, president of UCAM, received from Alejandro Blanco, president of the Spanish Olympic Committee, the ‘Olympic values’ award which recognises a consolidated path of commitment to the Olympic movement. His work at the forefront of UCAM, especially the strong support provided to athletes so they can combine their studies with sport, has been the main reason for the Spanish Olympic Committee to grant him this prestigious distinction.


Alejandro Blanco, president of the Spanish Olympic Committee, stressed in his speech that “José Luis Mendoza is doing a great job with UCAM, which has become a worldwide benchmark for its commitment to sport, the help it provides to people and the social works it carries out”.


In addition, UCAM was well represented at the gala by other athletes awarded:  Ana Carrasco, 2018 world motorcycle racing champion in the Supersport 300 category, Joel González, double Olympic taekwondo medallist, Maialen Chourraut, double Olympic canoe slalom medallist, and Teresa Perales, winner of 26 Paralympic medals. In the Region of Murcia, the distinction awarded to the Murcia Tennis Club on the occasion of its centenary stands out.
