A summer spent learning while immersed in English culture
UCAM offers all those who are interested in developing their English language skills the possibility to partake in an intensive English course during the summer period, independently of one’s studies, courses, educational background or level of English.
The course is directed and imparted by UCAM teaching staff.
Teaching will take place from Monday to Friday, from 09:30 to 11:00 and 11:30 to 13:00. There will be afternoon sessions from Monday to Thursday from 14:00 to 15:30, giving a total of 20 hours of face to face teaching per week, (divided into 14 hours of language teaching and 6 hours dedicated to cultural projects).
English classes will focus on the four language skills (reading, written expression, oral pronunciation and listening). Students will work with and develop specific grammar and vocabulary. They will practice pronounciation and speaking during day-to-day life as well as in the classroom where in practice pronunciation and will be involved in all kinds of activities which will help develop their skills, such as debates, role plays and other communicative activities.
The cultural projects will be carried out for 6 hours each week. These projects will be related to the classes, although they focus more on practical aspects. One of these projects will be written and the other will be an oral presentation.
All of the subjects will be based on British culture in general and will be divided into different categories.
Once the student has chosen their month of stay, he/she will be required to make payment:
Before 22nd June for the July course.
Before 13th July for the August course.
