UCAM graduates, who belong to the first edition of Medicine at the Murcian institute, are already choosing placements to complete their MIR. In Spain, MIR (Internal Resident Doctor) is a national exam for Medicine students, which gives them access to a deeper education in their field of study. After passing the MIR exam, the students are assigned to specialization placements. The assignments are going on in Spain through the whole month of May. During the first days, the students with the best grades were able to choose their specialization, as well as the hospital where their specialization will take place. 96% of the students from the Catholic University of Murcia passed the exam.

Out of the first ten, three of them chose dermatology as their specialization, two chose pediatrics, two cardiology, two ophthalmology, and one anesthesiology. Between the destinations chosen are Alicante, Albacete, San Sebastián, Granada, Madrid and Murcia.

The medium grade from UCAM students was above the national medium, an indication of the education received. “This good positioning achieved by the results that they got in the MIR gives them access to choose”, highlights Jerónimo Lajara, dean of the Faculty of Health Science of the University.

Currently the second edition of the students from Medicine of the Catholic University of Murcia is preparing themselves, who are close to finalizing exams and will be facing MIR the next year.
